Email kathirkobe@gmail.comTap the "+" button on the home screen, give it a name, pick an emoji, choose a storage location (fridge, freezer, or pantry), and set an expiry date. It'll automatically sort itself alongside everything else based on urgency.
ShelfLife sends reminders 2 days before an item expires, 1 day before, on the day itself, and a follow-up the day after if it's still marked as active. You can choose in Settings whether you want notifications for everything in your household, or just items you personally added.
From the Households screen, create a household and invite others by sharing a QR code or a short invite code. Once someone joins, everyone sees the same shelf update in real time — add something on one phone, and it appears on the others instantly.
Yes. You can create or join multiple households (for example, a home kitchen and a second property) and switch between them instantly from the app. Each household keeps its own shelf, recipes, and impact history separately.
The Recipes tab looks at what's expiring soonest on your shelf and generates personalized recipe ideas, including a full ingredient list and description. Recipes refresh daily and are shared across everyone in a household, so you're always looking at the same suggestions.
Free includes up to 10 tracked items and basic expiry notifications. ShelfLife Pro unlocks unlimited items, AI recipe suggestions, household sharing, full impact history, and notification customization, for $3.99/month or $24.99/year. New users get a 14-day free trial of Pro, no credit card required.
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID, not within the app. Go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone to manage or cancel anytime.
Swipe on any item in your shelf and choose to mark it as used or wasted. This gets logged in your Impact tab so you can track your progress over time.
Email us at kathirkobe@gmail.com with your request and we'll take care of it promptly.
Make sure notifications are enabled for ShelfLife under your iPhone's Settings > Notifications, and check your in-app notification preferences under Settings to confirm you haven't limited them to "items I added only" if you're expecting alerts for a shared household.
